The goal of  Ambrosus (AMB) project is to drastically change global consumer chains by creating proven ecosystems where the project can reliably record the history of the origin of products and the history of commercial transactions between supply chain participants.

About Ambrosus

Food and medicine are vital spheres, however, global consumer chains are not transparent and most of us do not know what we eventually consume. This can be attributed to both nutrition and pharmaceuticals.

The project intends to introduce safer and autonomous consumer chains, introduce a transparent distribution process, allow consumers to more easily track where their products came from and what their composition actually is.

Consumer chains and quality control require an elastic and scalable protocol. Commercial agreements are encrypted in the form of smart contracts. New contracts based on quality and secure data generated by the sensors will be self-launching. Any disputes will be resolved automatically, with the immediate financial settlement and optional dynamic pricing. The project’s protocol is built on Ethereum. The key partner of the project is Parity Technologies.

Protected Data Warehouse

Digitization of sensory data will allow them to issue certificates with information about the product, which then enters the network of the network, protected from external intrusion. Digital attributes of goods will be processed in parallel with the consumer chain of products. All processes will be recorded and decentralized, fully verifiable way. The system will be protected from hacker attacks, manipulation of data and fraud.

Sensor system

In the future, it is planned to create a unique system of sensors, biosensors and product trackers that will allow real-time tracking of physical attributes of products and accompany them along the consumer chain thanks to the implemented unique ID. The system will introduce new smart marks and a mechanism that counteracts counterfeiting. The sensor system will be launched in the EPFL Innovation Park, which is funded by the Swiss authorities.

Developer Toolkit

To make Ambrosus a full-fledged ecosystem, developer tools, and modules will be available that will allow community members to create distributed applications, extensions and the protocol of upgrades, create value solutions for the community, including consumers, farmers, pharmacists, distributors and business owners. These tools can be monetized directly through a micro-payment system. Compatibility with other protocols based on Ethereum creates mutual complementarity of services and seamless integration.

Angel Versetti


Angel previously worked at the United Nations, World Resources Forum, Bloomberg and was trained at Google. He was the youngest project leader and lead published author at the UN. Through his partnership Versetti & Co, he led investments in startups, social projects and early cryptocurrencies. Angel is a recognised expert and frequent speaker on innovation, technology and economic development (Davos, Vatican, UNESCO, COP21). Admitted to Cambridge, life brought him to Sciences Po Paris, where he obtained a BA in History, Politics and Philosophy and an MA in Public Management (Excellence Scholarship). Certified skills in Diplomacy, Negotiations and Business.

Dr. Stefan Meyer


Stefan has over 20 years of R&D experience in food analysis, ultrasound sensors, and data encryption. Previously, Stefan led R&D projects at Nestlé, MHM Microtechnique, and Vitargent Biotech and also sold two projects to Maersk Group and Perrot GmbH. He was the Founding Managing Director of the Integrative Food and Nutrition Center at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL). Stefan holds a PhD in Food Science (ultrasound applications in the food industry) from the University of Leeds and an MSc in Geosciences from the University of Lausanne. Stefan is also a Member of the Swiss Federal Office for Agriculture.

Dr. Vlad Trifa

Chief Product Officer

Vlad is the Founder of Web of Things and former Head of Digital Lab at Swisscom. As Co-Founder of EVRYTHNG, he has designed and built large-scale IoT platforms used by Fortune 100 companies (incl. Coca Cola, Unilever, LVMH, GE). Previously he served as Research Associate at MIT and UCLA. He holds a PhD and MSc in Computer Science from ETH Zurich and EPFL respectively. He also co-authored the seminal book Building the Web of Things.

Dr. Joseph Chen-Yu Wang

Project Manager

Joseph is the Chief Scientist at Bitquant Research Laboratories. He previously served as Vice President at JP Morgan in New York and Hong Kong (Quantitative Analytics & Equity Derivatives) and also served as Lead Dev at Pointserve and Landmark Graphics. He also developed open source projects for Globewide Network Academy and IRAF. He is experienced in developing fintech libraries in C++, Python, Java, R, and Perl. Joseph holds a BsC in Physics from MIT and PhD in Astrophysics from the University of Texas at Austin.

The Amber token mainly performs three functions:

It serves as a digital reflection of the product that is followed. The token collects sensory data about the product.
